Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

Yippee! All our hard work as finally paid off, today brought us that much awaited Power Picks win, along with the much awaited news that Bucky made the final round of the CMT Awards nominees! Bucky was nominated for "USA Weekend Breakthrough Video Of The Year which recognizes best video from an artists major debut album. Power Picks Loss, Better Luck Tomorrow!

Well rats - the Power Picks gremlins are working against us double time. Many including yours truly had a black screen following Garth's match, and them mere seconds of the Bucky match before it was over. We have one more chance tomorrow in which we will be voting furiously for "It's Good To Be Us" and hopefully will provide us with a much needed victory.

In what may be simply a strange bit of timing, following the death of Jeff Healey news sources have announced that Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Please take a moment and say a prayer for him and his family, and check out http://pancreatica.org/ for more information about pancreatic cancer or to make a donation. I am adding the retinoblastoma site in honor of Jeff's passing as well http://www.retinoblastoma.net/ .

Tomorrow brings us as I mentioned that final Power Picks match for the week, along with the much awaited CMT Awards nominations. Hopefully both of these will bring us what we have been waiting for all week. If not, we have a long road of ahead of us with many more opportunities. Check out http://buckymania.blogspot.com/ today for a long term outlook that will bring a smile to your face.

Now pick up the phone and get your radio requests in, then head over to GAC and CMT for some online voting - you're opinion counts! Make it often, and make it loud.

You Can't Win 'Em All

Still early in the week, but we are down a Power Picks win and are lacking an ACM nomination. We would like to congratulate Kelly Pickler and the other nominees, good luck to all!

Please note that the Power Picks seems to have moved to a new time slot, 11 AM ET. This is an hour earlier than the show has previously aired which may have a bit to do with our loss today. We will be ready tomorrow though! Tomorrow's match brings A Different World back into the limelight, while Thursday's match is for It's Good To Be Us. Thursday also brings much awaited (and hopefully positive) news with the CMT nominations. We voted our fingers off for the first round, here is hoping it paid off.

Keep up those requests folks, lets get our Bucky up the charts - #15 is in sight, and with a bit of momentum #10 isn't so far off.

Todays photo courtesy of Buckyfan3, who despite the frigid and snowy winter Wisconsin has had - showed her Bucky love by building a snow fan for all to see. If this weather keeps up, he should be around well into July.

I would like to ask everyone to take a quiet moment to recognize the passing of an amazing musician who provided inspiration to many including our own Bucky. Jeff Healey fly free, you will be missed but in our hearts you will live on.

Power Picks, ACM's

And starting all that off, an update on the Ron/Don history thanks to kgator/kerri:

Don & Ron Harris, Mark Miller, & Hobie Hubbard all lived in the same town in Florida and went to high school together. Through all the years they have stayed friends and after Ron retired from wrestling, he went to work for Mark & Mark's BeachStreet Record Company and helped with Sawyer Brown and some of the Christian groups like Casting Crowns. Then Ron got Bucky started, helping him on the GAC Christmas tour. Meanwhile Don continued to wrestle for a while, then retired from the ring and worked in the Production side of wrestling. When Bucky started touring full time, Don left TNA Wrestling and became the road manager while Ron usually stays in Nashville running O Seven Artist Management.

Thanks Kerri for filling us in, I am still in awe of the very idea - sure wish I would have had a chance to catch them in the ring, but they are doing amazing work in the music industry and I am happy to have had the chance to meet Don on a few occasionions at shows, hopefully will add Ron to that at some point.

Big (huge) things start tomorrow for us - the ACM awards http://www.acmcountry.com/content/index.php nominees will be announced on The Early Show and if fan opinion counts for anything both Bucky and Jason Michael Carroll should be shoe ins for Best New Male Artist nominations.

Tomorrow also brings the first of this weeks Power Picks http://www.cmt.com/shows/dyn/cmt_power_picks/series.jhtml battles. Be ready online at 12 ET and get those clicking fingers ready, It's Good To Be Us is up for this match.

(Someday I will learn to put URLs in that look nice, honest!)

Please keep up those requests, we can and WILL get Bucky up that chart. Recruit friends to help with the requests as well, plus live streaming and online votes. We can do this!

Bigger and Badder

I love the web, and need to send a thank you to Steve over at http://www.shinybass.com for enlightening me to an interesting fact (or pile of them literally!) I knew from the moment that I set eyes on Bucky's road manager that he was a force to be reckoned with - he is a big guy and I would never want to be on his bad side, ever. I had no idea about his past though, which makes him honestly even more ominous. (My road manager can beat up your road manager?)

Both Don and his twin brother Ron are former professional wrestlers. You can check out http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/profiles/h/harris-brothers.html for the low down. I think this is pretty dang cool, I was joking with my hubby who is a wrestling fan that he had been getting the wrong autograph at the shows! Awesome, would love to hear the story sometime of how they made the transition from wrestling to managing, if anyone knows feel free to share, I will gladly post it here to the blog! Don & Ron - you guys are awesome!

Now we need to work even harder to bump Bucky up the charts. We don't need Ron and Don on our bad side. Keep calling and requesting, keep those live streams going too on CMT. Get your say in at CMT and GAC as well!

Additionally I wanted to post a quick reminder that Tuesday is the big day we have been waiting for, the announcement for nominees for the ACM awards. Good luck Bucky!

Power Picks & Rockford Show

Looks like a super busy week coming up for us on the Power Picks front. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday matches! Keep those fingers busy, the show starts at 11AM ET and you can vote at CMT
http://www.cmt.com/shows/dyn/cmt_power_picks/series.jhtml . Just watch the matches and then vote when Bucky comes up (you can vote on the other matches too, but this IS a Bucky blog).

Have added a personal WAHOO! to my calendar, tickets for Rockfords Dierks/Bucky/Luke show on April 12 went on sale to the general public this morning! Team WI should be there in full force, have my tickets in hand. I am sooo overdue for a Bucky fix, I have been Bucky-less since November 9th. Amazing I haven't had to join a 12 step group to deal with the withdrawal symptoms, but I survived. You can check out tickets to the Rockford show at Rockford Centre Events - All Events & Tickets , still lots of good seats available, and at last check some general admission floor spots as well.

Keep those requests going for It's Good To Be Us, and don't forget the GAC and CMT voting. Pencil those Power Picks days in on your schedule too, lets get that video playing more frequently.
