Charts, Resellers Part Deux
Congrats everyone! We are still hanging tough on the mediabase charts with that shiny #10 on the weighted chart, and lucky #13 on Top 500. Great work! Lets turn up the heat a bit and step up those requests. Recruit a couple folks to help you out, and lets bring that big #10 to the Billboard Charts.
On the subject of resellers, that opens a slightly different can of worms than the ebay "for-profit" merchants. While some resellers do indeed do so for profit, many resell simply because they no longer want the item. It happens daily across the world, from the used car down the street you bought from your neighbor to a visit to the local Goodwill store. Buying used is both ecologically sound (better to reuse than dispose of) and economically wise (typically used items cost less!)
Where do you draw the line? That is clearly a boundary that must be set by each individual. While buying a used CD at the local used CD shop doesn't profit Bucky's label or anyone else's, it does spread the love of that music. I have personally bought used CDs of artists that I am not familiar with, only to find out that I absolutely love the music which led me to go and purchase new copies of their other music. I also would like to add that while the label does not profit from the resale of their items, they most likely did profit on the initial sale. I also personally cannot walk past a used copy of Bucky's CD without picking it up to share with a friend. Thankfully it has only happened a small handful of times!
If you are buying your "Bucky" merchandise, try and buy it from Bucky either via his official website or at a concert. Buy the licensed items which speak loudly of our Bucky love. The folks on Ebay with their stores have some great ideas and some great items, but I don't feel that giving them my $ does a darn thing to benefit Bucky. So my money goes where it speaks the loudest, and it goes to the people who will listen.
